Hooking up with Blooming Tuesday and Fertilizer Friday - Links in my side bar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In our side yard area off the living room. This is a view looking out the living room window - it is lovely! In this area because it is surrounded by tree's and close to the house is a micro-climate 5. (This is actually a side shot of thepicture in the header.)
............
We are a zone 4 and so everything else in the yard is toast but this stays green a little bit longer. Here are a few pictures from that spot - the plants are looking tired and ready to go to sleep for the winter, but they continue to gladden my heart and brighten my eye for a few more days. This plant has never bloomed before!
It is a fall plant!
WOO HOO
This is one of the pots.
This is another pot.
This is the chinese lantern - they spread like crazy so you have to really keep an eye on them - but I love their cheery little seed pods in the fall!
I love those Chinese lanterns for fall flower arrangements. Unfortunately I was not very successful when I tried to grow them.
Your plants still look very nice. Hopefully you get to enjoy them a few more weeks.
What a lot is still flowering in your garden!
Very nice, I love all of your rocks and stones...
Very nice area. Who needs blooms when you have interesting leaves. Jean
What a great area you have created. Must be a real joy in the summer.
I think Chinese Lantern blooms are so fun to look at.
I have to confess that I like to pinch them though. LOL!
Have a wonderful week.
Microclimates help us grow plants we could otherwise not. The ligularia is doing well in yours. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed the tour of your garden today. I didn't know we could grow Chinese Lanterns in Zone 4, but now I do! That is a very healthy ligularia you have blooming, wish mine looked as fresh.
